Everything we do is thanks to out supporters, so it is an exciting time to join us as our Director of Fundraising. The UK office is the largest income contributor to the World Animal Protection group and as a result this is a challenging and exciting role where you will be responsible for all UK fundraising expenditure and income. Reporting to the UK Country Director, you will work as a part of the UK senior leadership team to help delivery a coordinated approach to managing our resources across three core functions Campaigns, Communications and Fundraising.

Who are we?
World Animal Protection is the global voice for animal welfare, with more than 70 years’ experience campaigning for a world where animals live free from cruelty and suffering. 
We have offices in 12 countries and work across 47 countries. We collaborate with local communities, the private sector, civil society and governments to change animals’ lives for the better. 

Our goal is to change the way the world works to end animal cruelty and suffering for both wild and farmed animals. Through our global food system strategy, we will end factory farming and create a humane and sustainable food system that puts animals first. By transforming the broken systems that fuel exploitation and commodification, we will give wild animals the right to a wildlife. Our work to protect animals will play a vital role in solving the climate emergency, the public health crisis, and the devastation of natural habitats.

What will you be doing?

Within the scope of the role, you will be responsible for the following:

•Planning, delivering and measuring our fundraising efforts, b product and audience.
•Responsible for the delivery of all UK fundraising income and growth against agreed targets.
•Be accountable for compliance and governance related to fundraising, ensuring all fundraising activity and any support services provided are in accordance with the law, sector best practices, to meet supporter expectations and protect the reputation of the organisation.
•Lead the UK’s Fundraising teams, providing inclusive and motivational leadership, in which you will role model the values of the organisation.
•Manage, empower and enable our UK Fundraising team to deliver specific products that motivate people to join us on our mission towards a world free from animal suffering.

Who are we looking for?
•A highly numerate individual who uses data to drive and measure performance.
•Have substantial proven experience in fundraising with demonstrable success in growing income streams across Individual Giving, Legacy Giving, Philanthropy and Partnerships with an annual income of at least £8 million and an annual expenditure of £2m.
•With experience ideally in the voluntary sector, understand the importance of partnerships and will be skilled in working with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally.
•Understand how to motivate and inspire others, creating a high performing, dynamic team culture.
